2011-2012 Events
GME Lobby Day [September 20th, 2011]
We're going to Lansing on September 20th to advocate for Graduate Medical Education (GME) funding. GME funding is funding used for residency training, and a crucial part of Michigan's safety net system. Hospitals that receive GME take care of a portionally higher rate of Medicaid patients and patients without insurance. Without this funding, many aspiring doctors in Michigan will be forced to move to different states for residency training. Note: GME funding does not cover medical school expenses. Send me an email at jotsao@med.wayne.edu if you have any questions/want to get involved!
